How To Tie The KD Rig

One of the simplest rigs to tie. The KD rig is constructed with minimal components, yet tied in a way that increased the aggressiveness of the hooks angle. The perfect rig for balance hookbaits!

You will need:

Kurv Shank Hook

20lb N-Trap Semi Stiff

Dark Matter Anti-Tangle Sleeve

Strippa Tool

Fine Baiting Needle

Split Shot

Razorblade Scissors

Hair Stops

Step 1

Remove 10 inches or so of the Supernatural from the spool

When at your desired length, simply cut

Strip back 3-4 inches of coating using your Strippa Tool

Form a small hair loop in your uncoated section, like so

With a fine Baiting Needle, mount your chosen hookbait and pass it down onto the hair

Secure your hookbait in place with a Hair Stop

We recommend using a small Wafter or small Pop-Up (10-12mm)

Measure the length of the hair against the bend of your Kurv hook, like so

Whip over the hair two times going down the hook's shank

Hold the hair out and then whip five turns underneath it

Step 10

Pass the remaining hook link, through the back of the eye and pull tight.

If using a wafter, add a split shot onto your hooklink

When using a small Pop-Up we recommend adding your split shot beneath your bait, on the hair itself.

At the other end of your hoolink, slide on an Anti-Tangle Sleeve

Then tie a Fig.8 Loop Knot in the end of your hooklink

Push your Anti-Tangle Sleeve over the knot

Step 15

The KD Rig is now complete, and ready to catch some Carp!
